According to CDCBlack communities have made great strides in reducing HIV.

Yet racism, discrimination and distrust of the health care system can influence whether these communities seek or receive care and services.

Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

National experts are here to discuss the latest testing, prevention and treatment, as well as how far we’ve come since the early days of the disease.

We also pivot to talk about the future – the future of the COVID-19 pandemic, that is.

What will be the impact of the variants, new vaccinesvaccine hesitancy, natural immunityand the easing of restrictions?

We discuss the changing face of the pandemic with a local epidemiologist and answer listeners’ COVID questions.

Guests:

Dr. Laura W. Cheever

Chrissy AbrahamsWoodland
